Howdy Howdy Howdy
I'm not sure how many of the new girls will be reading this, but I just wanted to give everyone a head's up about November's craft day.
For starters, the husband has taken the day off so he can be home to watch football and drink beer, if you have a friend, boy or girl that you would like to bring, feel free, but please let me know ahead of time so I can get a good head count.
I would like for everyone to bring over a WIP so we can showcase our stuff for the new girls, I know a few of them would like to learn to knit and a couple want to learn to crochet, Paula, feel free to show off your kick ass painting skills. I'll also have out a my sewing machine and see if anyone else can bring over an extra so we can have a table set up just for sewing.
I hope to see everyone there.

Craft day in October
I have made the decision to go ahead with craft day this month, there's always next year for the fair. I'd like to do pumkin carving, but if you have a problem with pumkin innards, feel free to bring over a WIP. So far it's Panda and myself, I'm sure Pittman, Jen and Paula will come, anyone else? Camille is working, we may have a few new girls joining us, or so they say.
Leave a comment or give me a call if you're going to make it.

Craft Day is coming up...
Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe we could try soap/bath fizzy making, or Panda could teach us to make candles. A friend of mine has recently taken up sewing and loves to make very basic stuffed plush. Maybe one of these craft days everyone can bring over their sewing machine and we can make plushies.
I also wanted to tell everyone about a website called del.icio.us, it's a social bookmarking page. Say I found an awesome article or website dedicated to the basics of soapmaking, I could bookmark it on del.icio.us, and everyone with an d account can see it. It makes it a lot easier than copying, pasting, and e-mailing.
Let me know who will be over on Sunday and what you want to do.

August's Craft Day
This month is another WIP month, but I would also like to toss around ideas for holiday crafts.
My ideas for holiday crafts include gift bags of soaps, candles, lip balms, lotions, bath fizzies etc. and packaging them in gift bags or small record bowls, maybe a small fabric drawstring bag... I'd also like to maybe make tree ornaments, I'm up for making stockings I anyone else is interested.
More ideas? Anyone? Anyone?
BTW; craft day this month is next Sunday, August 19.

I'm just sayin...
Craft day this month on the 22 might include my mom if she's feeling up to it. Is anyone else bringing a friend?
I'm thinking since this month is WIP, does anyone have any ideas for next month? I'm thinking of starting holiday crafts in September. When you come over this month I have some awesome crafting magazines from the 70's we can look through to get ideas from. I really like the idea of making gift bags again, everyone seemed to enjoy them last year.
Can we get a role call for this month?

Crafty Day Has Been Rescheduled...

This Month's Crafty Awesomeness...
Craft Day will be Sunday July 15, unless anyone really wants to make it, can't come on that day and we have to reschedule for another Sunday. As always, just let me know. I haven't really decided on this month's craft, so in lieu of a designated craft, I think we all have works in progress that may need a little attention. Or am I the only one that starts multiple projects to apease my short attention span?
Let me know who's gonna be there.

This months craft is decoupage. It has been brought to my attention that not everyone is into decoupage so if you have something to decoupage or re finish, bring it. If you're one of those not into it, then bring over a work in progress. I'm told Panda will be bringing her needlepoint or a blanket, if Ladybug can make it she will bring pieces for an upcoming art show, I know I have a lot of WIPs I could/should work on.
So far we have;
Camille (will be late)

just so you know...
The third Sunday in June is Father's Day so we will move the Crafty Awesomeness to the last Sunday of June, which is the 24th.
It is designated decoupage as I said before. Let me know if you have any other ideas besides furniture and magnets. I'm sure you're all super excited because I just got my new copy of Ready-Made...

Is this thing on?
I'm thinking of planning a field trip to local thrift stores in search of t-shirts and maybe some other around the house items we can get crafty with...

Already Planning May's Craft
I was thinking by the third week of May the weather will be gorgeous and inspire us for outdoorsy crafts.
I'm thinking of having a garden craft day, we can paint flower pots, but some soil and seeds and create mini gardens for you ladies to have at your apartments and houses.
Anyone? Anyone? How does that sound? Do you have anything to add, or a better craft day idea for May?

Just so you know...
We are very likely to have a very special guest this month all the way from San Antonio. Jessica has already made official plans to come up for our crafting weekend!
I don't know if I've mentioned this before on here, but I'm totally up for a field trip to the thrift stores for a bunch of stuff that we don't need, but definetly want.
Third Weekend of the Month
In my last post, we talked about setting up Craft Weekends on the third weekend of every month, however, this month I would like to have it moved to the last weekend of the month. I will be teaching a class on Monday and want to have Sunday free to study and practice. Anyone want to be my pretend class?
On to the craft for April, I would like us to get together Sunday, the 29th around 1 or 2 in the afternoon. How does that sound to everyone? Before the big craft day, does anyone want to take a field trip to craft stores to find scrapbooks/photo albums to put the recipes in?
Does anyone have any special recipe requests? For example, I want Jennifer to bring her recipes for hummus and her recipes for meatballs.

This Month's Craft...
We need to set up a weekend for this month's craft. Are we all still on board with the recipe scrapbooks? If we have enough time to plan it out, I would like for everyone invited to bring over a dish.
We need to come up with a supply list to post, I'm thinking recipes, old magazines (preferably cooking magazines), a scrapbook, I have tons of markers, paints, scrapbooking paper and cardstock, but if anyone has any extra they would like to share, feel free.
Also crafting related, we get some random magazines delivered to the shop and this month we got one called "Ready Made." I jotted down a few ideas for future crafting days. Check it out at www.readymademag.com

Sunday Sunday Sunday!
The crafting event has been moved to Sunday, March 4 at sometime PM
Someone suggested to me that we do this once a month and have each craft planned in advance so we can get the supplies we need, for example, the next craft day will the cook books so everyone can start collecting recipes, pictures and making notes on recipes they enjoy, buying the scrapbooks/photo albums to put them in etc. Can everyone agree on the second Saturday or Sunday of every month?
I know right now that I am only talking to one person, but I'm hoping in the future to have more members.

This is a test of the emergency posting network. This is only a test, if it were an actual emergency, your computer would explode.
